Massie, Edward, M.A., (1805–1893) was the son of Rev. R. Massie of St. Bridget’s, Chester, and younger brother to Richard Massie. He was educated at Shrewsbury School and Wadham College, Oxford; B.A. 1830, M.A. 1834. He took Holy Orders in 1830. He died at Grange-over-Sands, Lancashire, in 1893. His published works include A Few Hymns for Occasional Use in the Services of the Church, 1862, and Sacred Odes, 1866 (volume 1) and 1867 (volume 2). The latter contains many translations from the German.
